DETAILS
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM
Estimated Pay Rate: $35/hr – $38/hr
Work Location: Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, IL
TASKS
(1) Perform a full range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology according to established protocols
(2) Evaluate the suitability of the specimen for analysis, prepare specimens for analysis, and ensure physiologic states of specimen properties are maintained
(3) Select, perform, evaluate, and monitor the performance of test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established protocols
(4) Contribute to quality control and instrument maintenance to ensure the validity and accuracy of results.
(5) Provide administrative and clerical support to enhance area operations.
Qualifications
(1) Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science (NAACLS accredited)
(2) Certification from the ASCP or AMT
(3) One year experience as a medical technologist in the last 3 years
