Job Description:
The Senior Business Consultant is responsible for managing projects of moderate to high complexity by collaborating with business partners across multiple functions to align technology solutions with business strategies. This role involves eliciting, documenting, and refining business requirements for the IT organization and serving as a liaison between various business areas and IT to provide effective technical solutions that meet user needs. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of business operations to identify and resolve ongoing issues, making informed recommendations for improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leadership and budget owners to analyze trends and provide insights for informed decision-making.
- Gather and analyze key performance metrics, communicating findings from detailed analyses to management at all levels.
- Lead presentations and discussions with stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
- Create and manage complex financial models, perform scenario sensitivity analysis, and support annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting.
- Actively participate in the development of business cases, including financial literacy and strategic direction in various domains.
- Review and validate financial reports, including variance and staffing analyses, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools to enhance data efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Provider Networking, and Health Care Management, to drive results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance with a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate financial reporting and budgeting or related fields; or 8 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage expectations and vendor relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information clearly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with experience in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Smartview preferred, along with experience in business/financial models and forecasting.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of judgment and critical thinking.
