SUMMARY
Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team for an exciting opportunity! The Manufacturing Engineer will design and develop manufacturing processes to meet production requirements of quality and quantity for the lowest cost. You will collaborate with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Safety, Engineering Services, and other departments to meet these goals. The Memphis, TN site focuses on electronics manufacturing, so this role requires strong electrical engineering experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- New product introduction (NPI) including equipment selection, time studies, tooling specifications, line balance data, manpower requirements, and all areas of process development
- Develop operation methods to increase efficiency and reduce costs – study product designs, materials, machines, and workflow
- Design and develop jigs, fixtures, and tools to ensure efficient product assembly and processing
- Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, safety, ergonomics, etc.
- Establish production schedules based on production requirements and available resources
- Partner with Operations Management to solve issues related to throughput, quality, and plant operations
- Maintain records and reports of activities such as labor utilization, production levels, machine performance, defective rates, etc.
- Assist with maintaining ISO certification
- Assist with electrical applications including troubleshooting electrical wiring and testing motors and control devices
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 2+ years of hands-on electrical or mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing environment
- Able to lead technicians and manufacturing personnel
- Strong training and communication skills
- Experience with electrical concepts including wiring layouts and electrical design
- Able to read, interpret, and execute schematics
- AutoCAD or SolidWorks
