Job details
Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking qualified candidates for a Scientist role at a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility located south of Houston, TX. This position will be integral to the development, optimization, and production of radiopharmaceutical products, supporting both research efforts and clinical implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct synthesis, purification, and characterization of radiopharmaceutical compounds
• Perform analytical testing (HPLC, GC, TLC, spectroscopy) to evaluate product quality, purity, and stability
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
• Interpret experimental data and prepare thorough reports and presentations to communicate findings
• Identify and implement process improvements to support the development and scaling of radiochemical procedures for clinical and commercial applications
• Plan and execute experiments independently, ensuring adherence to research protocols and timelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, QA, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs to ensure successful project outcomes and efficient technology transfer
• Comply with GLP, GMP, and radiation safety guidelines while supporting a culture of compliance
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior laboratory staff
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline required
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience, ideally within radiochemistry, radiopharmaceuticals, or a related industry
• Hands-on experience with radiochemical synthesis and handling of radioactive substances is preferred
• Skilled in analytical methodologies such as HPLC, GC, TLC, and/or spectroscopy
• Working knowledge of GMP and GLP standards
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and dedication to maintaining safety standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
