Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Perform Basic Maintenance Skills:
- Light rigging
- Piping joints and gaskets
- Tubing fitting (less than ¾ inch)
- Operate light load lifting equipment
- Valve maintenance
- Use of hand tools
- Basic computer skills
- Light rigging
- Other Responsibilities:
- Perform rotating equipment repairs and troubleshooting
- Conduct equipment alignment and seal repairs
- Adhere to all plant safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on equipment as needed
- Assist with new equipment installations
- Execute miscellaneous mechanical, piping, and vessel entry tasks
- Perform any additional duties as assigned
- Perform rotating equipment repairs and troubleshooting
Education, Work Experience, and Qualifications:
- Option 1:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years (within the last 5 years) of work-related experience
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Option 2:
- Technical school certificate or diploma in a related field (e.g., welding, industrial maintenance, electromechanical technology)
- Minimum of 2 years (within the last 5 years) of work-related experience
- Technical school certificate or diploma in a related field (e.g., welding, industrial maintenance, electromechanical technology)
- Successful completion of Maintenance Mechanic III requirements for at least 2 years or equivalent experience
- Experience/education must be recent (within last 5 years)
- Availability for rotating shift work and required overtime
- Willingness to participate in the fire brigade
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Requirements:
- Perform safety audits as per the Augusta Plant audit plan
- Attend plant-wide safety and wellness sessions
- Engage in safety audits, Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s), and What-if scenarios
- Complete all required computer-based training (CBT) on time
- Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) field reviews
- Follow up on incident investigations as needed
- Maintain knowledge of plant environmental standards (ES-01 to ES-10)
- Know environmental permit limits for assigned plant areas (air, wastewater, stormwater)
- Understand Hazardous Waste Rules (RCRA) for storage, handling, sampling, transporting, manifesting, record keeping, and emergency response
- Familiarity with facility environmental plans (SPCC, Storm Water Pollution Prevention)
