Job details
Do you have a passion for managing critical functions in a manufacturing environment? We’re hiring a Superintendent -1st Shift for our company’s manufacturing plant in Durant, MS.
Salary:
$90k-$105k
Ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, managing a workforce of supervisors and hourly technicians.
- A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable, and an associate’s degree is required.
- High level of mechanical aptitude
As a Superintendent:
What you will do:
- Eliminates hazards through work planning and preventing unsafe work activities.
- Communicates quality issues to management and engineering staff for further direction.
- Leads the investigation and resolution of safety or quality issues based on the Corrective Action Process.
- Directs production/fabrication work activities of supervisors and 50+ workers in Press and Welding
- Coordinates worker resources between multiple projects to maintain overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Maintains workflow and factory organization to maintain efficient throughput of work product.
- Ensure the workforce is trained and manage cross-training programs to ensure a versatile workforce.
- Develop area supervisors to meet departmental objectives, including high standards in quality, safety, and productivity.
- Lead excellence continuous improvement programs to engage the factory at all levels.
- Develop area supervisors to lead excellence continuous improvement programs that engage shop floor associates to achieve peak performance.
- Lead and participate in meetings with operations partners to prioritize production sequence, improve delivery reliability, and reduce factory lead times.
- Assist with the recruitment and hiring of plant personnel.
- Support and implement management philosophy and vision.
- Contribute and make recommendations to control and reduce departmental and overall costs.
Additional Qualifications Include:
- A BS degree from an accredited college is highly desirable, and/or an AA degree is required.
- 3+ years of experience. managing the workforce of supervisors and hourly technicians.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Experience developing and coaching supervisors as leaders.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards and KPI tracking
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
