Job Opportunity: Orthopedic Nurse – Spinal Cord Injury Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Clement J. Zablocki Veterans’ Administration Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering exceptional patient-centered care? Kelly Government Solutions is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Nurse specializing in Spinal Cord Injury for the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Position Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Expertise: Utilize your 3-4 years of nursing experience to assess, implement, and manage acute and chronic illness states. Provide supportive measures for patients and their significant others.

  • Patient-Centered Care: Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, and respond to significant health changes. Deliver courteous, tactful, and respectful care to all patients and families.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with nursing leadership, including Nurse Managers and Assistant Nurse Managers, ensuring quality care and patient confidentiality.

  • Comprehensive Care: Perform tasks including IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, wound care, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, and emergency response.

  • Education and Communication: Educate patients and families on health conditions and medications. Maintain accurate electronic medical records.

  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide clinical oversight to Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Technicians, and Nursing Assistants.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse license

  • 3-4 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in orthopedic and spinal cord injury care

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Familiarity with American Nursing Association’s Standards of Care

Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain 100% accuracy in Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA), prioritize tasks efficiently, and participate in the rapid response and cardiac arrest codes within the unit.
