Job Title: Machine Operator I – Mold Positioning & Setup
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
Type: Temp-to-Hire

Overview:
Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Machine Operator I to support mold positioning and setup in an injection molding facility located in Sterling Heights, MI. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering stable hours and competitive pay in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Mold Positioning & Setup:

  • Install molds into injection molding machines

  • Ensure proper alignment, connections, and setup according to production schedules

  • Set and verify machine parameters for each job

Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

  • Start, stop, and monitor injection molding presses

  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of molds and related equipment

  • Report and log any mechanical issues promptly

Quality Control:

  • Inspect molded parts for quality and conformance to standards

  • Make machine or process adjustments to correct defects

  • Complete required quality documentation

Problem Solving:

  • Troubleshoot mold and machine issues

  • Identify root causes of defects and work with the team to implement solutions

Safety & Housekeeping:

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Properly store molds and materials

Documentation:

  • Accurately record mold changes, adjustments, and any production issues

  • Maintain shift logs and production reports as needed

Material Handling:

  • Assist in transporting raw materials and finished goods

  • Ensure materials are properly labeled and stored

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with injection molding or machine operation preferred

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Basic understanding of machine setup and troubleshooting

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
