Kelly Engineering is seeking a Test Engineer with thermodynamic testing experience to help our client with a 6-month project.
Must have HVAC systems experience for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary operator of psychrometric test chamber(s), controlling both test cell and unit under test to achieve specified test conditions.
- Perform a wide variety of mechanical measurements, ranging from temperature, pressure, electrical power, and flow rate.
- Install and configure electronic instrumentation and data acquisition equipment.
- Design and construct test fixtures, including duct work, mechanical structures, controls, and measurement devices. Assistance is available from other departments as required.
- Execute testing plans including setup, calibration, test, troubleshooting, analysis, teardown, and report of findings.
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment and facility in conjunction with lab technician(s) and other lab engineer(s)
- Conduct witness testing for an approving authority at either our facility or the agency’s facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Engineering degree (BS or AAS) from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in engineering or engineering technology
- Proficiency with LabVIEW, PLCs, Arduino
- Strong mechanical background
- Controls Experience
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair
- Operations, psychrometrics, troubleshooting, installation, repair
- Hydronic systems knowledge
- Electrical and electronic installation and repair (low and medium voltage)
- Basic carpentry, sheet metal, and plumbing skills
- Manufacturing knowledge and/or experience
- Knowledge of ASHRAE/ISO/ANSI/AHRI testing standards and AHRI rating criteria
- Experience in metrology and calibration
- Experience with VBA or other programming languages (preferred)
