Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper
Location: Monroe, MI (100% On-Site)
Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Kelly Services is looking for an experienced and adaptable Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper to join our team in Monroe, MI. This temp-to-hire role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a department undergoing modernization and restructuring.

Position Highlights:
- Flexible Schedule Options: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, or 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- On-Site Only: Offices with full walls (no doors), close-knit accounting department
- Interview Process: Starts with a phone interview, followed by an on-site meeting
- Hiring Timeline: Start date will follow a probationary period; hiring to begin after July 7th
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all daily accounting functions including:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Bank Reconciliation
- Month-End
- Prior relevant experience from manufacturing company highly preferred
Will backup to the following areas – no prior experience needed in these areas, must be open to training

- General Ledger Entries
- Fixed Asset Tracking & Updates

- Assist with Financial Reporting (training provided if needed)
- Cross-train within the department to support invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation
- Contribute to departmental improvements and modernization of accounting processes
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Solid accounting/bookkeeping experience (consulting or process improvement a plus)
- Comfort working in a non-corporate, evolving environment
- A willingness to support a departmental rebuild and wear multiple hats
- Experience with ERP software – JD Edwards preferred, but others accepted
- Basic Excel skills (formulas, sorting, filtering)
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
Work Environment:
- Small team: this role will join two other staff members, including a retired clerk assisting with training
- Executive VP is acting as Controller, with opportunity for exposure to broader company finance functions
- The role is part of a collaborative team supporting over 1,000 accrual accounts and fixed assets
