Quality Inspector in Simi Valley
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections on electronic assemblies, mechanical components, and systems per company and industry standards.
- Use a variety of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, multimeters, and microscopes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and work instructions to verify product conformance.
- Accurately document inspection results and non-conformances within the ERP system e.g., issuing NCRs, recording lot traceability, updating part status .
- Navigate ERP system modules to: Review part specifications and inspection criteria, Track component history and lot control, Document quality records and inspection outcomes, Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions CAPAs .
- Assist with internal audits, supplier inspections, and compliance to AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, mechanical inspection, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or electronics environment.
- Experience working with and navigating ERP systems e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar to input data, access inspection documentation, and track part status.
- Proficient in using measurement tools and visual inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or similar standards is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
