We’re seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join a clients’ team in Lyndhurst. This is a direct hire opportunity with long-term potential, offering a mix of accounting and administrative tasks along with exposure to light HR duties. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller in a supportive environment where your contributions make a real impact.
 


What You’ll Do
As an integral part of our small but busy team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Entering and processing vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency

  • Running and distributing recurring and ad-hoc reports

  • Processing customer credit card payments

  • Responding to billing inquiries and assisting with account follow-ups

  • Performing light collections and tracking past-due accounts

  • Sending customer notices and monthly statements

  • Maintaining organized digital and paper records

  • Assisting the Controller with HR-related duties, including:


  • Scheduling interviews and meetings

  • Onboarding new hires (documentation, welcome materials, coordination)

  • Supporting employee recordkeeping and administrative tasks

  • Providing general administrative support to the accounting and HR teams  



    What We’re Looking For

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required—relevant experience is just as valuable

    • 1+ years of experience in accounting, administrative support, or HR coordination

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel</strong>; familiarity with accounting or HR software is a plus

    • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills

    • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work both independently and as part of a team

    • A proactive, flexible, and friendly attitude
