Position Title: Production Operator with Forklift Experience
Location: Statesboro
Pay: $18/hr
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Production Operator with Forklift Experience to join our team. This role involves operating a forklift and performing key operations related to the manufacturing and assembly of high-quality products. Candidates must be flexible with shift rotation and have the ability to move between work centers. Compliance with plant policies and support for 5S initiatives and department/corporate goals is mandatory. The roles and responsibilities outlined may change based on company needs.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure accuracy of work and monitor the quality of preceding operations.
- Perform tasks according to work instructions and maintain required UPH (Units Per Hour).
- Safely operate machinery and forklift within the work center.
- Troubleshoot issues and notify the Team Leader/Supervisor as necessary.
- Maintain necessary documentation.
- Adhere to all workplace and safety rules.
- Maintain clean and orderly work centers and report concerns with appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance efficiency and minimize scrap/downtime, including rotation and troubleshooting.
- Engage in mandatory training, shift, and department meetings.
- Support departmental goals of safety, quality, and cost reduction.
- Follow prescribed work standards as written.
- Support and participate in EHS objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
Work Environment:
- Plant setting with temperature fluctuations (hotter in summer, cooler in winter).
- Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
- Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes, glasses, and gloves.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for 8-12 hours per day.
- Frequent bending and reaching with arms forward/above the shoulders.
- Pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. for 1 hour per day (carts).
- Ability to maintain focus for extended periods.
- Ability to multitask and analyze information to identify problems.
