Oddball Picker – Cherry Picker/Order Selector
Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM start (8-10 hour shifts)
Job Summary:
The Oddball Picker, specializing as a Cherry Picker/Order Selector, is responsible for selecting wine, beer, and spirits, and preparing them for shipment based on order labels. Picking is performed using a cherry picker from racks and must follow wave numerical order. The role requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment, achieving daily productivity goals, and ensuring compliance with company policies for a secure workplace. Duties are assigned based on the workstation.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Six months of warehouse experience in a similar position required.
- Cherry picker experience is a must.
- Experience with operating an electric pallet jack, forklift, and other power equipment preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Work at heights to pick products by hand and relocate using a cherry picker or other power equipment.
- Sequentially label boxes according to wave order.
- Rapidly and accurately discern product descriptions and item numbers.
- Select oddball pallets in wave sequence using equipped technology.
- Ensure proper stacking, securing, and stability of all loads.
- Communicate inventory shortages to the Warehouse Area Manager.
- Safely manage conveyor line operations and shutdowns if necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive records to uphold control over inventory, rotation, and security.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently.
- Report written safety or mechanical issues concerning power equipment.
- Conduct operations and retain facility cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.
- Assist in other warehouse zones as required or directed.
- Support warehouse security efforts.

Working Conditions:
- Regular work at heights with safety harness usage while operating a cherry picker or similar equipment.
- High standards required in non-temperature controlled environments, subject to heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions.
- Occasional work within refrigerated sectors.
- Moderate to loud noise exposure with dust and fumes from power equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Consistent and reliable attendance necessary.
- Regular operation of pallet jacks and/or forklifts.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, and handle materials with dexterity.
- Frequent stacking, unstacking, and relocating large product quantities.
- Ability to perform lifting (50-65 lbs), including overhead lifts.
- Specific vision capabilities required: close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distances.
