We are hiring everyday food service workers at Battlefield Elementary School! Remember that school district employee who made a difference in your life? Now it’s your turn! Job Goal:
To prepare and serve quality meals meeting Child Nutrition Program guidelines in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school education preferred but not required

  • Ability to read, write, count, measure, weigh, interpret thermometers

  • Ability to follow instructions, both verbal and written. 

Experience:

  • Previous job experience preferred but not required. 

Must be able to: 

  • Lift up to 30 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds with assistance. 

  • Stoop, bend, kneel and crouch and then rise with no assistance. 

  • Reach above head. 

  • Push and pull items weighing 30 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds assisted. 

  • Properly climb using safety ladder. 

  • Stand and/or walk for long periods of time. 

Condition of Employment: 

  • Show up clean & neat everyday with no visible sign of illness. 

  • Successful completion of thirty-hour course, ”Orientation for New Employees” (ONE) within one calendar year of hire date as required by Georgia State Department of Education’s Child Nutrition Program. 

 Working Conditions: 
Environment may include noise, heat, reduced ventilation and potential spillage on floor.  Excellent safety practices including proper lifting techniques must be utilized. 
Reports to: Cafeteria Manager 
Responsibilities: 

  • Follows work plan and time schedule as prescribed by lunchroom manager.  Takes initiative to help others as needed. 

  • Prepares food according to directions and in a manner that meets Serv Safe standards. 

  • Washes dishes and utensils according to Health Department regulations. 

  • Serves food as directed by the manager and is pleasant to customers at all times. 

  • Attends to cleanliness and orderliness of all storage areas. 

  • Stores food and other related items in a manner that meets Serv Safe standards. 

  • Puts away dishes and utensils. 

  • Washes dish cloths and towels. 

  • Operates and cleans kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary manner. 

  • Keeps work area clean and orderly. 

  • Obeys all health and safety rules. 

  • Cooperates with other kitchen and school personnel and helps to foster a pleasant work environment. 

  • Attends Child Nutrition In-Service and Training Meetings when required. 

  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
