Associate Scientist – Santa Ana, CA
Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an Associate Scientist for a position with a premier client in the development of cell culture media & reagents. Type: Contract – 1 year (potential for conversion)
Shift: M-F 8a-5p (flexibility)
Pay Rate: $28.85 – $31.25
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC instruments.
- Perform sample preparation tasks, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Gain exposure to operating HPLC instruments by conducting routine runs under supervision.
- Support in performing basic chemical assays and recording simple data.
- Engage actively in learning opportunities to develop skills in analytical techniques.
- Collaborate with team members in group and project meetings to enhance understanding of experimental processes.
- Maintain Good Laboratory Practices, Procedures, and documentation in daily activities.
Upwards Growth OR Scientist I:
- Operate analytical instrumentation routinely; HPLC experience is essential
- Run the HPLC instrument occasionally or do any maintenance/troubleshooting
- Develop robust HPLC methods for small and large molecules
- Handle sample preparation with high consistency and minimal variability
- Perform various chemical/biological assays and moderate data analysis
- Participate in experimental design
Qualifications:
- Education:
- B.S. in a Biological/Chemical Science or equivalent
- M.S. preferred
- B.S. in a Biological/Chemical Science or equivalent
- Experience:
- 0-3 years of relevant working experience with HPLC
- Additional experience in other analytical chemistry techniques is desirable
- 0-3 years of relevant working experience with HPLC
- Knowledge:
- Advanced in Analytical Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Biochemistry
- Basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, etc.)
- Importance of analytical precision and accuracy
- Experimental/research concepts, practices, procedures, and statistical data analysis
- General computer systems knowledge
- GMP, GLP, and GDP procedures
- Advanced in Analytical Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Biochemistry
