Title: Lab Technician
Location: Warrensville Hts., OH
Duration: 12 months +
Type: W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)
Pay: $21.00 – $24.81/hour
Overview
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Laboratory Technician to support our materials testing and analysis operations.
- Will be responsible for preparing and analyzing metallurgical samples, performing physical property tests, and documenting results to support engineering and process qualification efforts.
Responsibilities
Sample Preparation:
- Section (cut) sample parts using a manual abrasive saw.
- Mount, sand, and polish specimens for metallurgical analysis.
Testing & Analysis:
- Perform Archimedes density measurements.
- Conduct metallurgical micrograph analysis, including grain size and microstructure evaluation.
- Perform hardness testing using appropriate equipment and standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately document test results in laboratory reports.
- Compile and organize data into spreadsheets or other formats as requested by engineering staff.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with metallographic preparation techniques and testing methods.
- Metallurgical laboratory and background in materials science. There will be no patient or customer interaction for this position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment
- Laboratory and manufacturing floor settings.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- May involve standing for extended periods and handling of small tools and equipment.
Additional Information
- Onsite / Monday – Friday / Can accommodate a start time of 6am-8am
