Job Title: Material Specialist (Jr.)
Employee Shift: Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm (S1)

Employee Pay Rate: $19/hr

SUMMARY
The Material Specialist supports the Production Operation and the Materials Management group by moving materials into and out of the production environment and Inventory storage areas, providing materials and supplies as needed and performing cycle counts to ensure system and physical inventories match. Establish new processes and improve existing processes.
Duties include receiving, allocating, cycle counting, picking and kitting components for production, performing transactions in MRP and other database systems to accurately track and maintain material movement records (receiving packing slips, inventory transfers, work order transactions, obsolete dispositions, etc.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Must understand inventory management principles and practices (cycle count, Kanban, etc.)
· Perform Material Movements (Picking, Kitting, Transfers, Replacements, etc.) and execute appropriate transactions in MRP or database systems to assure inventory accuracy
· Perform cycle counts
· Maintain floor stock
· Must be detail oriented and be able to work with minimal supervision
· Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
· Passion for working in a warehouse setting
· Ability to become forklift certified

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS /EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS POSITION:
· High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
· Experience in inventory or warehouse related roles
· The ideal candidate will have at least 2 yrs experience in a similar role with knowledge of Pick/Pack, Shipping, MRP, inventory management
· Experience with data entry in MRP or similar systems.
· Able to extract data into excel format, create an Aged Report with disposition recommendations.
· Able to develop a cycle counting process from concept to documented procedure.
