Test Engineer
Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Test Engineer for 6-9 month contract position with a client in the Santa Barbara area. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.
Overview
Our client is a small developer of power generation products. They’re currently in the testing and validation phase of several new products and are adding an experienced test engineer that can lead the execution of product testing in accordance to DoD/military specifications.
As part of the development team, you will execute product or qualification testing including but not limited to vibration, corrosion, EMI/EMC. You’ll collaborate with internal staff and 3rd party testing facilities. There may be some domestic travel to testing facilities for test witnessing.
Responsibilities:
- Execute testing and methodologies to ensure compliance with DoD customer specifications.
- Ensure test methodologies align with industry standards for product lifecycle, environmental exposure, quality, and design parameters.
- Modification or development of test methodologies.
- Execute necessary tests and document results
- Analyze and report test results
- Utilize 3rd party test labs and if required be onsite for test witnessing.
- Provide development team with input to improve design for either increased reliability, improved product or test performance, or cost.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (preferred but will consider other engineering degree with relevant experience
- 3+ years relevant test lab experience that includes:
- Functionality testing
- Product lifecycle testing
- Environmental testing
- Durability, reliability, strength testing
