Now Hiring: Plant Manager – Custom Steel Manufacturing
Location: Sherman, TX | Salary: $90,000-120,000k a year
Industry: Steel Fabrication / Engineer-to-Order Manufacturing
Full-Time | Onsite | Overtime as needed
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Plant Manager with a strong background in custom steel manufacturing and P&L leadership. This role will oversee daily plant operations, drive continuous improvement, and deliver on safety, quality, and production goals in a non-cookie-cutter, engineer-to-order environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant functions including production, engineering, safety, quality, and operations to meet daily/monthly targets.
- Oversee and support safety initiatives, training, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement, working cross-functionally with engineering and quality teams.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and capacity planning to meet build-to-order timelines.
- Ensure all manufactured products meet customer specifications in a custom fabrication setting.
- Maintain accurate budgets, forecasting, and cost controls with a strong focus on profitability (P&L accountability).
- Support HR with performance management, hiring, and employee development.
- Resolve quality alerts and implement corrective actions.
- Cultivate a collaborative relationship with supply chain, purchasing, and customers.
- Support capital improvement projects and long-term operational strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in steel fabrication or custom-built industrial equipment.
- Must be available to be on call 24/7 if needed
- Proven experience managing engineer-to-order manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across engineering, production, and quality.
- Hands-on experience with P&L, budgeting, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety, and quality standards.
- Skilled in long-term capacity planning, workflow optimization, and employee development.
- Comfortable working in a non-high-volume, custom product environment.
