Sales Manager – Fermentation & Biotech
Location: Raleigh-Durham, NC (local candidates only)
Start Date: January 2026
Full-time | $ 75,000-$90,000/year salary + Uncapped Commission
Travel: Up to 25% (U.S. domestic)
Remote Role, open to candidates in RTP North Carolina
We are partnering with a cutting-edge global biotech company to identify a Sales Manager to lead U.S. market expansion efforts for its first U.S. site, headquartered in the Raleigh-Durham area. Motivated, entrepreneurial, and scientifically fluent sales professional to work in a fast-growing sector of the biotechnology space—particularly within fermentation-based technologies, including precision fermentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end sales efforts across the U.S. territory, owning deal sizes ranging from $250K to 7 figures+
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities in alignment with the company’s growth strategy
- Leverage HubSpot CRM to manage pipeline, reporting, and customer data
- Represent the brand at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings (25% travel)
- Collaborate closely with global leadership to align U.S. operations with overall company goals
- Build long-term strategic relationships with key customers in the fermentation, biotech, and synthetic biology industries
- Support the company’s scale-up in the U.S., with a clear trajectory toward executive leadership
Requirements
- 2–5 years of successful B2B sales experience; biotech, fermentation, or precision fermentation experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage and close complex, high-value deals
- Self-starter with a “hunter” mentality; hungry, proactive, and goal-oriented
- Experience working in or selling to R&D, CDMO, or biotech manufacturing environments is a plus
- Proficient in HubSpot or similar CRM tools
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Raleigh-Durham area
- Comfortable with domestic travel (up to 25%)
