Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and food safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing environments and a strong understanding of quality assurance protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming raw materials for proper labeling, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
- Conduct Pre-Operational Inspections to ensure food safety before production begins.
- Perform and document metal detector tests at the start, during, and end of production runs.
- Oversee production changeovers to verify correct setup of dough machines, packaging lines, check weighers, and UPC readers.
- Inspect finished products for moisture percentage, measurements, and color compliance.
- Document and report rejected products or raw material issues to QA and Plant Managers.
- Maintain accurate quality inspection reports per established procedures.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints or non-conforming product issues.
- Promptly report discrepancies or unusual findings to management.
- Conduct equipment calibration testing as needed.
- Supervise daily cleaning crew and verify cleanliness of the plant.
- Ensure compliance with Global Food Safety Standards.
- Serve as backup for the QA Supervisor when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in QA or food safety preferred.
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing or quality assurance role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
