Title: Electronic Security Technician
Locations: Petersburg, VA
Position Type: Contract to Hire (5-month contract to hire)
Contract Pay Rate: $25-29/HR
SUMMARY
Kelly Engineering is seeking qualified Electronics Security Technicians for our client in Petersburg, Virginia. They are a full-service security and resiliency solution integrator. They provide systems and services, integrated into solutions, for the protection of important industry sectors including critical infrastructure, government, commercial organizations, people, and facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs, services, and troubleshoots, access control and CCTV equipment and systems.
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards with a focus on quality customer service
- Install cabling and card readers, mount equipment, door contact and strikes, intrusion detection, CCTV equipment, and access control systems
- Use diagnostic equipment/software and established troubleshooting techniques to isolate equipment failures and resolve performance issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications
- Manage and maintain proper material inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge in CCTV/IP Video Systems, Access Control Platforms, Intrusion Systems and Low Voltage Electronics (5V-56V)
- Minimum one (1) year experience in the electronics field, with commercial access control and CCTV
- Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM; additional work, including on-call, may be required
- Must maintain a satisfactory background record
- Must be willing to travel
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crawl
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift and move items over 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders and elevate in lifts and bucket trucks
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
- Must be able to work in various conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold
