Description:
- 1st Shift: 5:00 am – 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday
- Location: 960 Ames Avenue, Milpitas, California, USA 95035
- Pay Rate: $24 per hour
- Position Summary:
- Entry-level role in a plant/factory setting
- Performs a series of operations or tasks under close supervision
- Utilizes documented work processes
- Entry-level role in a plant/factory setting
Core Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Adhere to policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality
- Regularly check equipment throughout shift to ensure proper functioning
- Read and follow required processes clearly
- Contribute to division results and overall performance
- Address internal and external customer needs and expectations
- Operate equipment specific to areas such as:
- CARBON:
- Bag products, conduct sampling and testing
- Manage spent carbon feed to reactivation furnace
- Switch tank feed from tank to tank of spent carbon
- Calibrate pH probes
- Operate a filter press
- Run the wastewater treatment plant
- Bag products, conduct sampling and testing
- REGEN:
- Sort bottles by size and resin
- Load and unload deliveries to/from regional branch
- Operate forklift to move bottles and materials inside the plant
- Load and unload trucks
- Evacuate bottles
- Sort bottles by size and resin
- CARBON:
Position Requirements – Formal Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical and Skill Requirements:
- Able to move/push tanks weighing up to 350 lbs (never to lift)
- Able to drive a forklift (training provided if needed)
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Complete site-specific safety training on first day
- Clear communication skills for team interaction
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Basic math skills
Site-Specific Requirements:
- Complete 40-hour hazardous waste operations training for CARBON area
- Knowledge of computers
Physical Capabilities:
- Sit, stand, hear, and see constantly
- Walk, write, and type frequently
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Climb and descend stairs
- Bend, carry, reach, push, and pull occasionally
- Communicate verbally and in writing
- Work indoors and outdoors as needed
- Exposure to heat up to 120°F and cold down to 0°F
- Retrieve materials outside, with work also indoors
- Wear hearing protection in noisy areas
- Exposure to dust and dirt in some areas
- Work surfaces may include concrete surfaces
- Operate a computer and communicate via telephone
