Job Title: Chemical Materials Handling Operator
Location: North Augusta, SC
Pay Rate: $20.60/hour
Schedule: 7:30 Am-3:30 Pm
Position Summary:
The Materials Handling Operator is responsible for moving, unloading, and loading materials and containers within a manufacturing plant. This role requires attention to safety, teamwork, learning new tasks, and clear communication. Operators must follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to plant safety requirements and promote positive safety culture.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company procedures.
- Load and unload trucks, drums, and containers.
- Fill drums and package finished products.
- Monitor utilities and alarms.
- Wash, pack, and decontaminate equipment.
- Perform housekeeping and maintain cleanliness throughout the site.
- Notify supervisors of incidents and follow instructions.
- Train under experienced staff; work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Manufacturing site, bulk truck loading, and forklift experience preferred.
- South Carolina Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operator license preferred
- OSHA 10 Certification Required
- Previous Chemical Manufacturing experience required
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic arithmetic and computer use.
- Good communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of cGMP and basic DOT regulations preferred.
Safety and Physical Requirements:
- Commitment to safety; ability to work around hazardous chemicals and odors.
- Trained to use forklifts, wear respirators, and use protective equipment.
- Comfortable working in different weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Supervision:
- Can work independently on trained tasks, but reports daily to Shift Supervisor.
- Most decisions are guided by checklists; supervisors help when needed.
Reporting:
- Reports to Operations Shift Supervisor.

- Duties, reporting structure, and schedule may change during emergencies to meet business needs.
