Position Summary
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
· Operate production machinery while continuously monitoring the quality of output and machine performance.
· Make machine adjustments using company-supplied hand tools and other supplies as needed to ensure product quality and production speed.
· Complete various paperwork and data entry as required by ISO or department procedures.
· Review the job jacket and approved proof for each job to determine customer specifications, such as raw material requirements, type of finish, type of application, and stamping process.
· Communicate all pertinent issues as they relate to quality, production or maintenance directly to the production lead or Process Team Coach.
· Identify, evaluate and initiate corrective action on any aspect of machinery operations, seeking assistance or advice as needed.
· Ensure that all pertinent information related to shift carry-over, including job and machine status, is conveyed to the incoming operators during shift transitions.
· Perform routine operator maintenance of machinery.
· Operate and setup (in some cases) various types of specialized finishing equipment in accordance with job specifications and material requirements.
· Support the plant-wide 5S continuous improvement program by engaging in scheduled operator audits and conducting action improvement items in accordance with the guidance and direction provided by Process Team Coaches and 5S leaders.
· Engage and interface with the production floor supervision system in a timely manner that accurately reflects the various machine status changes that may occur during a shift.
· Assist other operators as needed, including providing machine coverage during breaks and lunch.
· Assist in other departments as production needs dictate.

Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
· Ability to comprehend, speak, write and read English
· Basic math skills
· Knowledge of basic hand tools, as well as calipers
· Basic mechanical aptitude
· Ability to interpret and work from established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Ability to work and communicate effectively and courteously with coworkers
Preferred Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
· Experience operating production machinery is preferred
Physical Demands
· Position is located in a manufacturing environment
· Exposed to a moderate noise level (though below 85 decibels)
· Must wear safety shoes as specified in the local Safety Shoe Policy
· May require the use of additional personal protective equipment (such as safety glasses) as dictated by local policy
· Must be able to distinguish colors across the full color spectrum
· Machine operation regularly requires repetitive motion
· Excellent eye-hand coordination required
· Must be able to stand for 8 hours when necessary
· Ability to lift up to 35 pounds required
