The Kelly® Professional & Industrial team is hiring Order Selector for a leading supply chain and logistics company in Champlain, NY.
Position Details:
- Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Location: Champlain, NY 12919
- Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
- Type: Temp-to-Hire
Job Summary
The Order Selector is responsible for accurately storing, picking, shipping, and receiving products in alignment with company standards for safety, security, sanitation, and productivity. General warehouse duties may also be assigned as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Move products to storage areas using proper equipment; stack and store merchandise in assigned locations.
- Pick and assemble orders for shipment with accuracy and quality.
- Process orders by picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and confirming shipments.
- Operate material handling equipment (pallet jack, forklift, reach truck) safely and effectively.
- Inspect and verify freight for accuracy, damage, or infestation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with warehouse security, sanitation tasks, and physical inventories.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Required previous experience in warehouse, distribution, or order picking.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order selection.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods (10–12 hours).
- Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching (above head and below waist).
- Comfortable walking long distances (facilities exceed ¼ mile).
- Ability to work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature.
- Willingness to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills; familiarity with WMS or RF scanners a plus.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with good communication skills.
