Tooling Engineer – Georgetown, KY

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer to join our client’s team in Georgetown, KY. This is a direct hire opportunity offering stability, a competitive salary, and a full benefits package upon hire.

  • Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 (depending on experience)

Role Summary
The Tooling Engineer will provide technical support and guidance to improve die making processes, bolster/retainer quality, and tooling performance within a forging environment. This role is hands-on and requires expertise in CAD/CAM, forging processes, and die engineering to drive cost savings, improve tool life, and support production efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create 2D/3D drawings from measured data using 3D scanning equipment.

  • Perform product and die measurements using 3D scanners and Hexagon CMM arms.

  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, die shop, and quality teams on process improvements.

  • Develop and maintain work instructions, control plans, PFMEAs, and tooling sheets.

  • Provide technical support for forging equipment and tooling-related issues.

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by addressing unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is strongly preferred

  • 1+ years of experience in forging, die engineering, or manufacturing engineering.

  • Skills for measuring product roughness and die dimensions using the newly introduced 3D scanner (training will be provided)

  • Hands-on background in tool and die methods.

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX, Catia, Work NC, FFCAM).

  • Strong project management, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
