Controls Engineer (PLC/HMI) – Ford GVOSS Standards
Location: Auburn Hills, MI (with travel to Ford locations)
Contract: 8-12 months
Pay: Competitive pay and full benefits package
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer specializing in Allen-Bradley (AB) PLC and HMI systems to join our team for an immediate 8-12 month contract near Auburn Hills, MI. You’ll play a critical role in commissioning and bringing complex manufacturing systems online in accordance with Ford GVOSS standards. This opportunity provides competitive pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and the chance to work with top-tier partner teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission, troubleshoot, and bring industrial systems (PLC, HMI) online
- Flash PLCs and HMIs, load programs, and set up I/O blocks
- Configure Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and set IP addresses
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Allen-Bradley code to full functionality
- Collaborate with partner teams to ensure on-time project delivery
- Travel to local Ford sites, including Avon Links and others, as required
- Support and resolve issues in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Direct commissioning experience in addition to programming
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Ford standards (GVOSS preferred)
- Ability and willingness to travel to Ford facilities as needed
