Kelly is seeking an Accounting Manager to work with our client, a leading direct-to-consumer retailer, on a direct hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting expertise to join a fun and high energy team at a company that has accomplished over 70 years of success!

The Accounting Manager will:

  • Report to the Senior Director of Finance

  • Lead month-end close processes, including review of reconciliations and journal entries (cash, prepaid expenses, payroll, accruals, etc.)

  • Ensure accuracy in compliance with GAAP

  • Analyze financial and cost data across balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Prepare audit-ready supporting schedules for quarterly and year-end external audits

  • Oversee cash audits and applications, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation

  • Manage customer liability accounts

  • Handle cost validation and analysis on inventory purchases including process improvements

  • Manage and develop a team of accountants with an emphasis on professional development

  • Guide the finance team on technical accounting issues and compliance with policies

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

  • Lead cross functional projects focused on automation, efficiency, and scalability

  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a fast-paced accounting department, including managerial experience

  • Experience in the consumer goods industry (or similar inventory-heavy industry) preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with proficiency in GAAP and audit preparation

  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization
