Job details

Position: Forklift Operator
Schedule: 5:30PM – 2AM- (Off on Thursday and Saturday)

To perform this job, a forklift driver must be familiar with the forklift’s controls and capabilities. They should also have strong attention to detail, be able to work independently or as part of a team and have good communication skills. Additionally, physical strength and stamina may be required as the job may involve lifting and moving heavy materials and goods.    

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspecting the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.    

  • Loading and unloading materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.    

  • Maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies to management.    

  • Ensuring that the forklift is always operated in a safe and responsible manner  

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area.    

  • Reporting any forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management    

  • Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed    

Requirements

  • At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures

  • Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear

  • The employee may frequently stand on their feet

  • The employee is regularly required to lift and move up to 50lbs. Occasionally the employee may need to lift up to 65lbs, – should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift

  • The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body – bending, crouching, climbing – using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reaching
