Service Technician I, Elgin, IL 60124 (ONSITE)
Kelly Services is seeking a Service Technician with 1 – 3 years or a technical degree/certification for one of our top clients.
Duration: 6-12 Months (possible extension based on performance and business needs)
Type: Contract W2
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr. (W2)
Interview Process: 1 Onsite Technical interview for 1 hour – 40 min with the Team Lead – 20 mins One with the Hiring manager.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, test, and ship sophisticated telecommunication equipment.
- Staging and Configuring Servers / Switches / Firewalls
- Communicating and working cohesively with the Development Organization
- Debugging Issues related to Sales Order and helping rectify them
Requirements:
- Experience setting up and configuring Windows computers, servers and networking devices.
- Technically proficient in basic computer skills
- Scripting knowledge
- Moderate Windows/Google Computer skills and ability to read/enter data as required.
- Ability to read build and configuration documentation.
- Quality/Safety conscious with ability to stay focused and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Quick learner with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Networking Equipment – Cisco and HP is a plus.
- Programming and Debugging Scripts to enable Staging Operations is a huge plus
- Basic debugging of automation scripts is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for 8 hours [or more if working overtime].
- Good attendance record and must be able to work 40 hours plus (including weekend work) Overtime each week for length of assignment.
- Must be willing to rotate between various positions in the organization based on business needs.
- Must wear steel-toed shoes.
