What’s a typical day as a Structural Mechanic I? You will:
-
Perform structural assembly and fitting of aircraft detail parts, including riveting, drilling, and sheet metal work.
-
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, sketches, and technical instructions.
-
Use tools such as rivet guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, clamps, and fixtures to complete assemblies.
-
Inspect finished assemblies to meet FAA requirements, customer specifications, and company quality standards.

Maintain accurate records in systems such as Solumina and Smarteam.
-
Align and assemble parts using jigs and fixtures, ensuring precision and safety.
-
Support Lean/5S programs by keeping work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Participate in continuous improvement and team initiatives.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

High School Diploma or GED required
-
1 year of related structural assembly experience (credit available for graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Program)

Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
-
Ability to read blueprints, scales, and perform shop math
-
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in confined spaces
-
Flexibility to work night shift and overtime as needed
-
Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and a professional attitude
