Now Hiring: Receiving Clerk / Material Handler
Location: Farmington, CT
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk / Material Handler to support logistics operations. This position requires flexibility between assisting the Receiving Department and performing material handling duties to ensure smooth production processes.
You’ll be responsible for unloading shipments, pulling and delivering parts, maintaining inventory accuracy in SAP, and keeping material flow organized between multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials between facilities.
- Support Receiving operations, including unloading trucks, containers, and processing inbound shipments.
- Perform goods receipts and stock transactions in SAP using PC or barcode scanners.
- Pull and deliver parts to production areas using transport carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Ensure accuracy in part counts, stock adjustments, and issuing materials to production orders.
- Maintain workplace organization and support 5S standards.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while recognizing and resolving potential problems.
Requirements
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Previous experience with computerized shipping/receiving systems preferred.
- Experience driving a 20,000 lb. truck a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
