Schedule: Primarily day shift, must be flexible to support all shifts

Summary

The Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for leading an operating unit of approximately 100 employees to achieve annual goals for safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability. This role manages the site leadership team and ensures the development and execution of clear strategies and plans to meet business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure site employees are aligned with company goals, emphasizing safety, quality, and financial performance


  • Communicate business objectives and results, engaging employees at all levels


  • Partner with sales and product management to understand customer requirements and deliver high-quality results


  • Develop and implement solutions to close performance gaps in safety, quality, and financial metrics


  • Lead with transparency and collaboration through regular updates and coaching sessions with leadership teams


  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture with continuous improvement practices


  • Optimize critical aspects of operations to meet performance targets


  • Integrate AI tools and low-code technologies (e.g., MS Copilot, Power Automate) to enhance workflows and decision-making


  • Ensure accountability for employee performance through recognition and corrective action where necessary


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline required


  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, including at least 1 year in operations management


  • Must have management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment; experience working in a paper mill is a plus


  • Strong knowledge of operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices


  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards) and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Pyramid BI)


  • Familiarity with AI and low-code technologies such as MS Copilot, Power Apps, or MS Forms preferred


  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, problem-solving, and project management


  • Strong communication, customer service orientation, and attention to detail


  • Ability to manage and motivate teams in a fast-paced, industrial environment


Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting in an industrial environment with moderate noise levels


  • Occasional reaching, lifting, stooping, or crouching


  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment


Additional Information

  • This is a full-time, on-site position in West Monroe, LA


  • Occasional domestic and international travel is required
