At Kelly® Professional & Industrial, we’re seeking Optical Fabricators to work for a premier optics manufacturer in West Henrietta, NY. With us, it’s all about finding the right opportunity for you!
Pay: $23.00 – $25.00/hr. (Depending on experience). Temp to Hire.
Available Shifts:
- A Shift: 5am to 1:30pm or 9am to 5:30pm, Mon-Fri.
- Training Schedule: 7am to 3:30pm, Mon-Fri (for the first 4-6 weeks).
Summary: As an Optical Fabricator, you’ll support the manufacturing of custom lens assemblies and precision optical systems. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in glass fabrication, strong attention to detail, and experience using technical tools in a production environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform core optical fabrication tasks: coring, sawing, curve generation, blocking, grinding, polishing, and beveling
- Operate machinery and hand tools with high precision
- Follow layout and scheduling for generation, blocking, and grinding areas
- Inspect components using micrometers and sensitive interferometers
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, machines, and work area
- Follow all Clean Room Protocols, safety guidelines, and company procedures
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and clean room garments as required
- Document work and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify and escalate any production or quality issues
This job might be an outstanding fit if you…
- Have a High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Have 2+ years of experience in optical fabrication or related manufacturing (Preferred)
- Are comfortable working with high-speed cutting wheels and machinery
- Can work in noisy environments and wear cleanroom attire when needed
- Have familiarity with Baan ERP systems and barcoding (a plus)
- Are detail-oriented with strong manual dexterity and visual inspection skills
