Kelly Services is seeking SMT Operators for a premier Electronic Manufacturer located in West Melbourne, FL 32904
Job Title: SMT Operator I
Pay- $16.50+ DOE
Shifts- Mon-Friday
1st – 7am-3:30pm
2nd- 3:30pm-11:30pm
Job Summary
As an SMT Operator I, you’ll play a key role in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of equipment supporting Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembly processes and procedures. We’re seeking a skilled individual to help deliver quality assemblies while upholding our standards in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, conveyors, and other PCB assembly equipment.
- Ensure daily build plans are met as outlined by the production planner.
- Interface with both complex machine hardware and software during operation and troubleshooting.
- Identify, report, and control defective components and non-conforming materials, maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Perform minor machine adjustments and ensure product accuracy through self-inspection.
- Assist with New Product Introductions (NPI): programming, debugging, and set-ups; train new operators as needed.
- Follow established workmanship standards, written instructions, and verbal directives while maintaining data logs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and work-in-process.
- Participate in quality improvement teams and train other employees as required.
- Other duties as necessary to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience operating SMT equipment.
- Experience with NPI processes preferred.
- IPC-A-610 Certification required.
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Training required.
- Proficiency in component identification, handling, and ESD requirements.
- Basic computer literacy, strong problem-solving abilities, and workstation skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and visual instructions.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC-610 standards.
- Flexible to work various hours as needed.
