HR Generalist / Human Resources Manager
Job Summary:
Join our mission-driven team as an HR Generalist/Human Resources Manager for a network of 85 employees in 9 offices. Based in a hybrid environment (3 days in office, 2 remote), you’ll play a vital role in shaping positive employee relations, guiding union/management collaboration, and ensuring a thriving, compliant workplace. Job Specifications:
- Job Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (3 office days, 2 remote—your choice!)
- Pay Rate: $70,000–$85,000/year (+$3,000 for bilingual talent)
- Shift: 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday (1-hour lunch)
- Annual Work Hours: 1950
- Technology Provided: Desktop & Laptop for seamless in-office/remote work
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as HR lead, managing all aspects of HR for union and non-union employees
- Foster positive union-management relations, acting as a trusted advisor and bridge-builder
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, grievances, and compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and the employee manual
- Advise leadership on labor law issues, best practices, and regulatory compliance
- Lead or participate in labor negotiation teams, supporting collective bargaining and contract administration
- Train staff on PayDay software and timekeeping processes
- Support managers with strategic workforce planning, employee engagement, and conflict resolution
- Benefit Administration
- Help create Job Descriptions, employee handbook and Standard Operating procedures
- Ensure smooth HR operations amid evolving workforce demands, including recruiting, onboarding and terminations
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a unionized environment, with hands-on collective bargaining and contract management is preferred
- Strong knowledge of labor law, grievance procedures, and CBA compliance
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with management and union representatives
- Demonstrated strategic HR planning and organizational skills
- Experience conducting investigations and managing employee relations issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, with comfort in both virtual and in-person settings
- Experience training staff in HRIS/timekeeping systems (PayDay experience a plus)
- SHRM Certification preferred
