Shipping Clerk
Paris, KY
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (mandatory overtime on Friday)
Pay Range: $20 – $24 per hour
Duration: Permanent OR Temp to Hire depending on the candidate and experience

Job Summary
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, verifying, and processing outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective coordination with carriers, customer service, and warehouse staff.
Key Duties
Shipment Preparation & Documentation

Prepare Bills of Lading and shipping labels.

Verify orders against packing lists before shipping.

Ensure packaging meets company and carrier requirements.
Carrier Coordination
-
Schedule and coordinate freight pick-ups with carriers.

Provide accurate freight quotes when required.

Track shipments and provide status updates to customer service.
Accuracy & Compliance

Check for shipping errors and correct before dispatch.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company shipping regulations.

Assist in freight claims processing for damages or shortages.
Daily Administrative Duties

Enter shipment details into ERP/portal systems.

File shipping records and maintain accurate documentation.

Communicate with customer service, brokers, and carriers regarding daily shipments.
Qualifications
-
1–3 years of experience as a shipping clerk

Familiarity with Bills of Lading, routing, and freight quotes.

Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work orders.

Basic computer and ERP system proficiency.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate material handling equipment as needed.
