What a typical day as an Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic might look like: 

Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practices Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Identification of complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints- repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessary
Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace necessary parts
Able to understand and complete Preventative Maintenance based on Preventative Maintenance schedules
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
Responsive to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete maintenance reports as required
Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency
Ability to work with vendors and/or contractors as required
Ensure spare parts or services are ordered as required
Implement operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.)
Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently
Maintain organization of spare parts
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
Complete special projects and duties as assigned
Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipment
Rebuild/ fabrication of equipment
Welding mild and stainless steel
Complete work orders
Maintain logs and records
Investigates electrical and instrument equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
 
 This job might be an outstanding fit if you have: 

You are 18 years of age or older
High School Degree or equivalent
2+ years in a manufacturing/production environment
Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair required
You have knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics and/or pneumatics
You have ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints
You must be able to lift to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance are required
You enjoy working as a part of a larger team to make an impact
Ensuring a safe work environment is a priority to you
You take pride in the work you do, with every detail, whether big or small
Being a part of your community matters
LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferred
