Senior Laboratory Analyst – Gas Chromatography / Specialty Gases
Location: Atlanta, GA
Pay Rate: $25–$30/hour (based on experience)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire
Environment: Industrial chemical manufacturing facility (non-climate controlled; fans provided; hydration provided onsite)
Kelly Science is seeking a Senior Laboratory Analyst on behalf of a global leader in the industrial gas and specialty chemical sector, located near Atlanta, GA. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for candidates with demonstrated experience in gas chromatography, quality assurance, and production support in a chemical or manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and regulatory compliance of specialty gas products through advanced analytical techniques and process control.
Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced GC analysis of refrigerants and specialty gas mixtures to determine composition, purity, and compliance with ARI and internal specifications.

Interpret analytical data, troubleshoot chromatographic results, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Lead quality assurance initiatives including batch release, review of production records, and report generation using PC-based software.

Coordinate with production and scheduling teams to manage testing workflows and prioritize high-demand mixes.

Conduct audits and inspections in alignment with internal SOPs, industry standards, and safety protocols.

Prepare customer-facing gas analysis reports and provide technical support to resolve quality-related inquiries.

Assist with physical handling, labeling, and storage of high- and low-pressure gas cylinders.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field</strong>; advanced coursework in physical chemistry or analytical instrumentation strongly preferred.

3+ years of hands-on experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or specialty gas laboratory environment.

Proven expertise in gas chromatography (GC)</strong>; familiarity with calibration, method troubleshooting, and data interpretation.

Strong understanding of high-pressure gas safety, chemical handling protocols, and industry compliance standards.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, LIMS systems, and PC-based reporting tools.

Comfortable lifting cylinders (up to 70 lbs) and working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
