Contract: 6 month contract-to-hire

Location: Columbus, GA
Shift: 6am – 4:30pm Mon – Thurs
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires strong technical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and clear communication to support cross-functional projects and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Proficiency
- Install, configure, test, and maintain automation hardware and software systems.
- Apply knowledge of systems engineering, electronics, mechanics, and computer systems to support equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system faults; perform system integration as required.
2. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills
- Identify and analyze root causes of system malfunctions using structured methods (e.g., 5-Why, FMEA, root cause analysis).
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
- Adapt quickly to complex issues and develop effective, sustainable solutions.
3. Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly with engineers, vendors, and operations teams.
- Document procedures, test results, maintenance actions, and system performance accurately.
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-functional projects, support training initiatives, and assist with system upgrades.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of automation, systems engineering, electronics, and computer systems.
- Prior experience with automation or controls in an industrial or technical environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Effective communicator and team player.
