We’re seeking an Accounting Manager to work at a premier client in either Philadelphia, PA or Riverwoods, IL. Sound good? Take a closer look below. Pay Rate: $65-$70 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule: 8am to 5pm, Monday – Friday 2-3 days in Office
Locations Available: Philadelphia, PA or Riverwood, IL
Position Type: Contract to Hire, base salary $140K plus STIP

What’s a typical day as Accounting Manager? You’ll be
- Leading month-end close and reporting processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Supervising and mentoring accounting staff, enhancing process quality and performance.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and approving general ledger transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules on monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual cycles.
- Proactively identifying and resolving accounting issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
- Supporting internal and external audits, delivering documentation and professional responses.
- Maintaining and updating desktop procedures, operational checklists, and process documentation.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and third-party providers.
- Conducting independent analysis for process improvement and implementing recommendations..
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Are a CPA or making progress toward certification (strongly preferred).
- Have 7–9 years of accounting/audit experience, including 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Recently managed teams responsible for general ledger functions, including month-end close, journal entry review, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and audit support.
- Possess proficiency in major ERP systems (SAP, Great Plains, NetSuite) and Blackline.
- Have advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
- Can manage teams and work independently in a fast-paced environment, meeting accelerated close timelines (3–5 days).
- Communicate effectively and collaborate across functions.
- Have project management experience and flexibility to work hybrid hours.
