Manufacturing Engineer – Medical Devices / Pharma (GMP)
Petaluma, CA | On-Site | Contract to Hire
Kelly Engineering is hiring on behalf of our client, a medical device manufacturer specializing in combination products (device + drug). This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer role with clear growth into leadership.
The Role
We are looking for a go-getter with 3–5+ years of GMP-regulated experience in medical device or pharma manufacturing. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys being hands-on with pumps, piping, and production systems, and has the drive to eventually lead production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation, assembly, and troubleshooting of pumps, piping, and production equipment.
- Support validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), scale-up, and GMP compliance.
- Develop SOPs, process improvements, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive production success.
- Step into a leadership role in manufacturing operations over time.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3–5+ years in GMP-regulated manufacturing.
- Background in medical devices or pharma (non-negotiable).
- Strong mechanical aptitude (pumps, piping, production equipment).
- Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, GMP.
- Startup-ready: proactive, driven, and milestone-focused.
Preferred Skills
- Combination product experience (device + drug).
- Lean/Six Sigma, CAD, or MES experience.
