Payroll Supervisor
Salary Range $85K to $95K (DOE)
Fulltime- 40 hours per week
Overview:
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. This role is accountable for independent decision-making on payroll-related matters and ongoing supervision of assigned staff. Key responsibilities include training, planning, organizing, reviewing, and evaluating the work and performance of the payroll team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train new department staff.
- Oversee daily workflow of payroll functions.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy.
Payroll Duties:
- Review, approve, and ensure accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll for 1,000+ employees, maintaining adherence to internal controls and regulations.
- Audit payroll transactions for accuracy, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, benefits, garnishments, and tax deductions.
- Resolve payroll-related inquiries with attention to accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality; maintain documentation for audit readiness.
- Evaluate and enhance payroll processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws; implement regulatory updates as needed.
- Oversee ongoing payroll reviews to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Recommend and implement software, system, and procedural updates to maintain compliance and improve operations.
- Configure payroll systems (earning/deduction codes, PTO plans, tax accounts).
- Analyze and reconcile payroll records, earnings, and deductions; identify and correct discrepancies.
- Manage semi-monthly Short-Term Disability benefit calculations.
- Facilitate Wage and Hour training for management in coordination with company policies.
- Partner with Accounting on general ledger administration and reconciliation.
- Lead year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation, reconciliation, and distribution.
- Handle payroll-related questions via email and phone.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of current experience in payroll
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (UltiPro/UKG preferred)
- 2+ years of business intelligence report writing experience
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Windows
Physical Activities/Requirements:
- Onsite work required at Dublin Headquarters to support essential operations (in-person meetings, handling mail, printing/distribution of checks, offboarding procedures)
- Flexibility for remote work subject to business needs
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
- Ability to operate computer and office equipment
- Visual acuity for reading/analyzing data
- Occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs.), walking, standing, or bending
- Effective communication in-person, by phone, and email
