Leaker / Production Inspector
Location: Penn Yan, NY
Pay Rate: Starting at $18.75
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or rotating 12 hour Shifts
Position Summary
The Production Associate is responsible for supporting the manufacturing and packaging process by inspecting product quality, operating and supplying packaging equipment, preparing finished goods for shipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role ensures products meet company quality, safety, and food safety standards while contributing to daily production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect finished products for leaks, damaged packaging, improper seals, labeling errors, and other quality defects.
- Remove defective products from the production line and perform rework or repackaging as needed.
- Feed packaging materials into automated equipment and assist with operating labelers, printers, case packers, and other production machinery.
- Stack finished product cases on pallets and prepare products for shipment.
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process and report issues to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of rejected, reworked, or damaged products as required.
- Clean production equipment and maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, quality, and food safety procedures.
- Support general production operations and work collaboratively to achieve daily production targets.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, or warehouse experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to safely work around production equipment and machinery.
Work Environment
- Food and beverage manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to production equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all company safety and food safety standards.
