Job Title: Reach Truck Operator
Location: Joliet, IL
Pay: 17.50 to 20.50 per hour (depending on shift)
Job Overview:
The Reach Truck Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to support all inbound and outbound freight activities. This role ensures proper handling, staging, storage, and documentation of materials while maintaining an organized, clean, and compliant warehouse environment. The operator will load and unload RJW trailers and outside carriers, pick customer orders using warehouse operation sheets, and follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining efficient daily warehouse operations.
- Operate Reach trucks, sit‑down forklifts, and EPJs safely and effectively.
- Use computers and handheld RF devices to complete warehouse tasks.
- Load and unload RJW trailers and outside carrier equipment using proper procedures.
- Work flexible 10–12 hour shifts as needed and be comfortable working at heights.
- Pick, move, and handle stock ranging from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ensure all shipments are accurately staged, checked, and loaded.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stacked warehouse areas.
- Process outbound cross‑dock freight as required.
- Store and move product into appropriate storage racks.
- Pick customer orders and load trailers using warehouse operation sheets.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against paperwork for accuracy.
- Complete all required documentation and shipping/receiving paperwork.
- Operate forklifts in full compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, including wearing seatbelts at all times.
- Perform and document daily forklift maintenance inspections.
