- Shift:
- First shift: 4AM to 5AM until 2:30PM to 3:30PM
- Second shift: 3PM to 4PM until 1:30AM to 2:30AM
- Third shift: 10PM until 6PM
- Weekend shift: 5AM to 5PM (12hrs) — Friday Saturday Sunday or Saturday Sunday only
- First shift: 4AM to 5AM until 2:30PM to 3:30PM
- 12-month contract with potential for permanent hire based on performance and business needs
- Gain hands-on experience in advanced structural assembly in a high-performance aerospace environment.
- Work in a safe, clean, and team-oriented facility that values continuous improvement and employee growth.
What’s a typical day as a Structural Mechanic I? You’ll be:
- Performing structural assembly and fitting using blueprints, sketches, and work orders.
- Carrying out drilling, riveting, and fitting operations using hand and pneumatic tools.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to determine sequence of operations and specifications.
- Ensuring assemblies are defect-free before final inspection and verifying quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate production logs and records (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.).
- Supporting 5S and Lean initiatives, keeping the work area organized and safe.
- Working both independently and collaboratively to meet production and quality goals.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 1 year of related structural assembly experience (aerospace preferred).
- Experience with Solumina and Smarteam systems (preferred).
- Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program graduates may receive 1 year of experience credit.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and a 6″ scale.
- Strong attention to detail and professional work habits.
- Proficiency with basic shop math and computer literacy.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in confined spaces as needed.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Additional Details:
- Employment Type: 12-month contract
- Shift: must be open for the above stated shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd shift)
- Pay Rate: $21.21/hr.
