Now Hiring: Customer Service & Inside Sales – Long Beach, CA
Pay: $23/hour
Location: Long Beach, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00am–3:30pm
Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Customer Service & Inside Sales Representative to join our Long Beach team. This role is essential to the success of our distribution branch and includes responsibilities in customer service, inside sales, order management, warehouse support, and administrative coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, industry awareness, and a commitment to exceptional customer care.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Inside Sales

  • Handle inbound sales calls, quote requests, and product inquiries.


  • Process sales orders from initial contact to delivery completion.


  • Proactively maintain and grow customer accounts through relationship-building and upselling.


  • Prepare, update, and follow up on customer quotes, proposals, and pricing.


  • Track lost sales, open quotes, and expedite requests.


  • Negotiate pricing and terms based on customer needs and product availability.


  • Provide consultative support to help customers choose the right products.


  • Follow up on leads and assist with converting opportunities into sales.


  • Collaborate with outside sales representatives, and occasionally accompany them on customer visits.

Operations & Logistics

  • Monitor inventory levels, availability, and lead times.


  • Coordinate deliveries and special-order logistics to meet customer expectations.


  • Manage returns, warranty issues, and special delivery arrangements.


  • Assist with credit, collections, and processing credit card payments.

Warehouse & Administrative Support

  • Support physical inventory counts and general warehouse activities (order picking/packing, forklift operation if certified).


  • Partner with purchasing, warehouse, billing, and management teams to ensure smooth workflow.


  • Maintain accurate customer records, pricing data, and order documentation.


Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of B2B inside sales or customer service experience (industrial insulation, building materials, plumbing, or HVAC experience preferred).


  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.


  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide consultative sales support.


  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
