Light Assembly Worker (Assembler II)
Location: Lake Zurich, IL
Shifts Available: 1st Shift and 2nd Shift
Pay Range: $18.00 – $23.50 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail?oriented Light Assembly Worker (Assembler II) to join our Production team in Lake Zurich, IL. This role performs hands?on manufacturing and assembly activities in support of company objectives to deliver high?quality medical devices that meet customer requirements for quality, quantity, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Follow the Medical Murray Quality System and all applicable SOPs per the Training Matrix
- Work independently with minimal supervision while completing assignments accurately and on time
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with company policy
- Adhere to all safety requirements and quality standards
- Maintain positive working relationships and act professionally during conflict resolution
Assembly Responsibilities
- Assemble components, subassemblies, and final products using released documentation
- Perform in?line inspections and product testing throughout the assembly process
- Identify and communicate product defects using reject logs or direct communication
- Operate a variety of manufacturing and assembly equipment, including:
- Adhesive dispensers, UV cure systems
- Vertical shrinkers, braiders, tipping machines
- Molding and other production equipment
- Adhesive dispensers, UV cure systems
- Track materials, tools, and procedures during device manufacturing
- Utilize hand tools and measurement devices such as calipers and rulers
Documentation & Line Clearance
- Perform daily line clearance for each operation in accordance with procedures
- Verify training is current and procedures are fully understood before starting work
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly station cleaning (CER)
- Accurately complete all Lot History Records (LHRs) and manufacturing documentation
Additional Duties
- Provide job training support to coworkers as directed
- Notify lead or supervisor of non?conformance issues (e.g., expired materials, out?of?date calibration, high scrap rates)
- Stop production when necessary to address quality or safety concerns
- Assist with other production?related tasks as needed
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience (medical device experience preferred)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to self?inspect work
- Comfortable working under a microscope
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- Excellent hand?eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Reliable, punctual, and works well with diverse teams
Preferred Skills
- Experience with three or more manufacturing processes or product lines
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience using hand tools, measurement tools, and assembly equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform fine, repetitive hand motions
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to safely handle small tools and equipment
